Meeting point: Ammoudi Bay ( Oia’s port)
Meet your local guide at Ammoudi, Oia’s port. From there, take the 7-minute ferry to Thirasia. Admire the spectacular scenery as you embark on a 2,5hour walking tour through unspoiled terrain to 3 villages.
Agrilia, the oldest settlement on the island with its magnificent Church ”The Dormition of Virgin Mary” and its cave houses lying there still ready to be explored. Hiking for about 20minute uphill we will reach Manolas, the capital of Thirasia.
As you walk, you will learn all about the history of the island and get a sense of the present local lifestyle from your guide.
Hungry yet? Hope so because you are going to enjoy a carefully selected meal at an old winery. Glass of wine or refreshment stin IGIA SAS (cheers to your health!).
Smell the aroma of freshly baked bread at the only bakery of the island before we walk down some 165 steps to Korfos which is the traditional port of Thirasia.
